BIO

Nada Hasan is a Cairo based multidisciplinary artist from Southern Egypt. Nada focuses mainly on video, media and moving image and visuals creation.


BA degree holder Faculty of Languages, Department of Russian Language and Literature, Ain shams University. Studied production of films at the Cairo Jesuit Cinema School (2009-2010) since then she develops her skills in film and video art work by self teaching and exploring as well as experimenting new and various forms of creating moving image. She has worked on a number of short fiction and documentary films. Her work main themes are dealing with body image, emotional package of body as a commodified being in modern society and how it functions under conditions of privileges constant imbalance in connection of the quadrilogy of Race, Gender, Sexuality and Power.


Although Nada’s special focus is on video and media arts, her practices of art are vary between illustration, graphic design, performance, theater and storytelling. She is passionate to explore contemporary media practices and its broad possibilities to create alternative relation between the artist and spectator and construct unconventional visual narratives through the image.
